On Friday, October 6th, 2023, the Bowie-Mitchellville (MD) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. celebrated 20 years of brotherhood, serving the Prince George’s County Community, and ‘Keeping the Dream Alive’ as their chapter motto goes. The black-tie gala was held at Martin's Crosswinds in Greenbelt, MD. It featured appearances from 30th Eastern Province Polemarch Richard B. Mattox, keynote speaker, 21st Eastern Province Polemarch Anthony B. Hill, chapter charter members, chapter officers, and many brothers from BMAC and the Eastern Province. As the event preceded, Grand Chief Administration Officer, charter member, and 1st Chapter Polemarch Charles E. Exum addressed the assembly, he reflected on all of the accomplishments and journey of the Chapter and simply stated he was “humbled”. He highlighted the Chapter for several achievements, including winning the 2022 Eastern Province Large Chapter of the Year award and initiating the spring 2023 MTA class. The 20-year-celebration committee deserved high praise for organizing a splendid evening full of fellowship, brotherhood, and recognition. At the end of the night, Brother Polemarch Joe Williams raised a glass and led the toast, “…to the Beacon of the East and keeping the dream alive… BMAC Strong”.
